These Are The Hidden Camera Hooks Pervs Use To Spy On You In The Bathroom

Police around the world have warned people to be wary of suspicious-looking clothing hooks found in places like bathroom stalls or dressing rooms.

At first glance, these items look just like normal clothing hooks offering you a place to hang your coat or purse.

But, if you look closer, youll find a tiny hidden camera, which allows people to spy on you while youre doing your thang in the stall or getting changed in a dressing room.

The worst part is these spy hooks dont even cost very much, which means just about any ol perv can get their hands on them.A quick Amazon search pulls up the creepy item listed at just $12.96.

Last year, authorities in Florida claimed these hooks had been found on walls in three public toilets around the state.

According to MailOnline, the Florida Keys sheriff said of these incidents,

Anyone who has a public restroom on their property needs to check them closely.

If you find anything suspicious you think might contain a hidden camera, dont touch it. Call us right away and we will respond.

Keep in mind, though, that these are very small cameras that can be mounted in many locations and hidden in many seemingly every-day items.

The spy hooks are typically marketed online as home security devices, which certainly makes sense in that context.

But, of course,a few pervy bad eggs have to ruin it for everyone else and hide them in places like hotel rooms and public bathrooms.

Private investigator Carrie Kerskie told NBC,

Nowadays, with the advances in technology, all you need to do is insert a MicroSD card.

The battery life for these coat hooks, I looked it up, is two hours.

Then, you just take it out, pop it in the computer, and you have all your images.

So gross.

Kerskie did have a possible solution to this problem, though.

She said there are tools that can help identify devices with hidden cameras, like a tool called Spy Finder.

Apparently, with Spy Finder, when you press a button and hold the device to your eye, youll see a red beam. Then you hold that beam toward the device you think may have a camera, and you scan it.

If you see a red dot, thats where the hidden camera is located.

But, of course, there is a catch.

The Spy Finder, at least in this Amazon listing, costs $160 which is ridiculous when you compare it to how cheap the spy hook is.

And if thats not a perfect representation of whats wrong with the world, then I dont know what is.
