Review for Captain Phillips in theaters October 11th, 2013. Captain Phillips Summary: The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by So…
Shipperwar you are awesome! You are the smartest female reviewer I’ve found on YouTube and I always enjoy and generally agree with your opinion 🙂
Here’s why I found your comments odd and a tab bit offensive in regards to my intelligence, even though I honestly don’t believe you attended it to be, hence why I questioned you about it first before even assuming, as you put it– that you were just “trolling” or “criticizing”. To me it doesn’t make sense for someone to assume someone else who’s tech savvy enough to upload over 200 videos, majority being about movies/tv not to know what one of the most popular movie/tv databases is online.
I didn’t criticize or troll you, so being called “odd” seemed inappropriate.
When Tom Hanks does good, he does GOOD! He’s simply one of the best actors in our lifetime!
Both you mentioned hardly respond to their comments… I guess it’s easier that way. No way to offend people when they post something that’s questionable. Sorry I disappointed you with trying to understand the nature of your comments!
I find it’s hard to watch though. I went insane after I watched it couldn’t speak to anyone for a couple hours, had a headache. I felt Tom Hanks pain which made me wonder at the end did I like it. It just shows you how good Tom Hanks can get into his role. It felt as though he was experiencing this and not acting. Tom hanks doesn’t act. He makes himself feel the way you see him on screen. I’d compare him to Jack Nicholson and the Shinning.
Okay, I’ll just stick to watching Chris Stuckman, What The Flick, and others.
I know, but your second comment you went on explaining what it was as though I didn’t know what it was… I just found your comments to be odd.
It was just a helpful tip to a movie reviewer, I prefaced it by saying “You might already know this.”
I know what IMDB is, I was questioning what you’re referring to, to think I had no idea what IMDB was. Because I did look him up, that’s how I knew he didn’t even have a secondary role in the film. His name appears at the bottom of the casting list. Also IMDB is what helped me realize Tim David is full of it, because all the known films Max Martini has appeared in, he’s never played an actual lead character in.
That guy who was complaining you didn’t know who Max Martini was. It’s a website that has everybody’s work history, it’s owned by Amazon.
What’s that in reference to?
You might already know this, but there’s a website IMDB(dot)com you can look up the cast and crew of movies.
I’m starting to think you’re trolling me… Seriously, you honestly believe someone should have to mention an actor who comes into the film in the last 30 minutes, that barely had a role in the film over a dozen of other actors who played bigger roles in the film!? Doing these reviews is a hobby, not a fulltime job. If you don’t like how it’s done here, again you have a YOUTUBE channel, you’re free to start reviewing movies yourself the way YOU think they should be done.
I am shaking my head at this point at your response. You seriously do not have any idea of good actors making a impact with out a huge bit. Just do some research on a project prior to doing a review. Good luck. I’m done.
He’s not even a secondary role in most of those films you’ve mentioned and I’m suppose to know who he is, because he played unmentionable characters in all those films?
You have no idea who Max Martini is? Look at a TV series from a few years ago called “The Unit”. Also Crisis, Pacific Rim,
Revenge, Lie to Me, 24 Day 2, Da Vinci’s Inquest, Saving Private Ryan, just to name a few. Oh yah Saving Private Ryan also starred, Tom Hanks, Tom Sizemore, Tom Sizemore, Vin Diesel, Matt Damon, Ted Danson, Barry Pepper, Max Martini. Sorry if I left any one out. Providing examples. No I don’t have a hard on for the guy. I just know good actors.
Nah, I rather take feedback from someone who doesn’t use the word “fail” in all caps after each correction. Also, I still have no idea who Max Martini is, so how am I suppose to magically know who it is just because you think he’s important enough to be mentioned in a video? So in reality your responds was over done and childish or as you would say, FAIL.
I don’t need to do a review. Don’t get butt hurt that your information was lacking. You left out key information, and was called out. How about you learn from the fed back instead of getting an attitude about it. Your response was over done and childish.
I just saw your awesome flawless review of Caption Phillips on your channel… oh wait… nevermind.
Ok, You did not recognize Max Martini, the SEAL commander was also in the movie, FAIL. Also the lead pirate as you call the character is called ‘Muse”. Real name: Barkhad Abdi FAIL.
As a ship’s captain frequently trading in the Gulf of Aden Area, I can vouch for the authenticity of the marine and piracy scenes I have watched in the various trailers. In many respects they are terrifyingly lifelike.
With all the drama in Nairobi and East Africa it has been become especially topical and relevant. For more background to this sad part of the world and the life of pirates and those sailing in the area, check out Amazon Books – ‘The Megiddo Revenge’.
You know something, I underestimated this film. I mean, I’m glad I got a screening for it but the intense quality of the film is something I would of gladly paid for. It was a great film. As far as Hanks getting another Oscar nod, not saying he doesn’t deserve it but I’d like to see another actor who hasn’t been nominated before as opposed to Hanks who been nominated and won plenty of times. If anything, Paul Greengrass should get a director nod and film editing should get a nod also.
Yes, every story has two sides and it’s nice the movie wasn’t bias and only showed one side.
I feel like this is one of his best films in years, starring him.
I watch Tom Hanks in anything as well and I must say this is one of his best in years… well outside from Toy Story! 😀
You saw it, what did you think?
More enthusiasm please!
great review, and I am glad the movie explores the reason for the pirate attacks near Somalia.
