‘The Hill’ needs a grammar fairy

Oh dear. The Hill columnist Brent Budowsky penned a piece earlier today about SCOTUS’s role in the War on Womyn, and, well, his “writing” left a lot to be desired:

In June we will remember the anniversary of the infamous 5-4 Supreme Court decision discrimination defeating women opposing against Wal-mart, when the five men joined fellow Republicans against efforts to win pay equity for women and end discrimination against women.

And that’s just one sentence. A single sentence. It only goes downhill from there.

Fortunately for us, the brilliant Ace of Spades was around to revel in the beautiful disaster.

hey @thehill I too am willing to write a top-of-my-head shoddy screed… can I have publication and $$$? Or is that for your liberal pals?

.@jackmcoldcuts @thehill Hey, @thehill, did you just run this as a goof, or what? That 2nd sentence reads like Al Sharpton farted it

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

.@thehill, would I be over-forward if I submit this article to the Pulitzer Committee? http://t.co/fzD3EyNc Will anyone join me?

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

.@thehill You had me at "In June we will remember the anniversary of the infamous 5-4 Supreme Court decision…" (1/20

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

…"discrimination defeating women opposing against Wal-mart" It's like word-salad poetry, @thehill. 2/2

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

I am not now, and have never been, someone who less than fully supported in favor against discrimination defeating women opposing Wal-Mart

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

I'd like to welcome Babar the Elephant to the editorial staff of @thehill.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

You can fool some of the people against discrimination defeating women opposing Wal-Mart all of the time. @thehill.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

You can fool all of the people against discrimination defeating women opposing Wal-Mart some of the time. @thehill

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

But you can't fool all of the people against discrimination defeating women opposing Wal-Mart all of the time, @thehil. Thank you.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

I guess @thehill really read that liberal screed very carefully before hitting "Publish."

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

I've been more circumspect about publishing my stools.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

If "against discrimination defeating women opposing Wal-Mart" was an organization, it would be ADD-WOW-Me.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

I just got word that that @thehill story didn't make sense because a crucial graphic failed to post. Here it is: http://t.co/Su1aLv3w

I would like to thank @thehill for being so inclusive of Gibberish-Americans.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

I'm frankly OUTRAGED, @thehill. #warongrammar

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

Let Me Put My Stupid In You: The Collected Warblings of Brent Budowsky (as first published at @thehill)

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

.@thehill Can you reprint Brent Budowsky's column from last year? I think it was called "Brawndo: It's what Plants crave."

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012

.@thehill do you have an English edition? A guy I know may be interested.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 6, 2012
